The Association aims to promote friendship between members, to spread the “antique silver” bug, to increase the knowledge of antique silver items, hallmarks and workmanship, and to provide a forum for discussion and questions. Need I say that I am a proud member! New members are always welcome – go the website for more details. It also has an excellent Newsletter and Links page.

SilverCollection.it A small collection of antique silver and objects of vertu from 18th to 20th century devoted especially to Continental silver. An illustrated selection of artifacts, sometimes uncommon...often unusual. The site is maintained by, and many of the items are the property of, the founder of ASCAS, Giorgio B.

is a great website run, especially for help with identifying American silver. It has a good selection of hallmarks, a nice gallery of items, plus a selection of books relevant to the area. Definately worth a leisurely browse. UPDATE - There is also a Silver Forum in which to post your queries, of which I am a member.

Antique Canteen Makers is a good site for a number of the larger Sterling Silver and Silverplate makers of Birmingham and Sheffield, with photographs, short histories and example marks.

The Online Encyclopedia of American Makers is essential viewing if you have a piece of American silver (usually marked either "Coin" or "Sterling"). All makers are arranged alphabetically.

A great Webiste for collectors of antiques and collectables. Articles, links about numismatics, philately, vinage postcards, fairs, galleries in Croatia and it's neighbour countries.

SM Publications Publishers of Silver Reference material, and the Resource Centre for Silver Collectors, Dealers and Appraisers. The forums are especially good, with many knowledgable people willing to help you out with identifying your family heirlooms or recent purchases.

Hallmarks on the Internet is a listing of all website dedicated toi silver hallmarks and their identification; it is, quite literally, a page full of links. Useful.

Dudart A site run by Dubravka M., focusing on the collection of old stamps, postcards and antique silver! A very well designed site.

The Gold and Silver Smith’s Guild of Australia As a fellow Australian, this website would of course rate a mention! The difference in maker’s marks now and past is worth comparing (but I’m not a fan of the Kangeroo Head guildmark – very ocker Australian).

Old South Silver Old South Silver is the website of Jerome Redfearn, specialist in antique silver from the south and mid-west. A commercial venture, but with a folksy side, offering interesting information on southern and mid-western silversmiths.
