UPDATE 16th May 2005:
Once again a very belated update, and my apologies. What news do I have to report? Well, I've updated and added to the "Links" page, so please check it out for some great websites. I've invested in a Fujifilm S3500 digital camera, plus a 10X Macro lens, so I'll hopefully be taking nice photos of the various hallmarks on my pieces. Speaking of my pieces, I will shortly be doing a total overhaul of my collection. I'm going to make each piece have a seperate page, with a number of photos for each piece. This will allow me more scope, plus cut down loading times for the website. Visits is now up to approximately 6200, which means I've had nearly 3000 visitors in less than 5 months. That's about 20 visitors a day - not bad eh? Stay tuned for more soon.
UPDATE 22nd January 2005:
Sorry for this belated update; I've been very busy at work (new position) and have just returned from 3 weeks in the USA. Lots of news - the website has been "written up" in the premier Italian antiques website, 3419 people have now visited the site, and the inquiries keep coming in. However, from now, anyone who asks for a valuation, or even a rough idea of value in their inquiry, will not be answered. I'm sorry but sometimes I feel like an eBay consultant. I'm shortly investing in a new digital camera and then all photos will be updated. Additionally, I've got one or two new pieces which I plan to reveal.
UPDATE 2nd October 2004:
I've added my most recent purchases to "My Collection" (4 new pieces, including an exceptional napkin ring). Additionally, I have now had over 250 inquires and over 1000 visitors to this site; it apparently rates very well on Google. Thanks to everyone who has visited my site and who has gone away knowing more about their silver.
UPDATE 4th September 2004:
I've come across a great website for all Silverbuffs - www.smpub.com. I'll make a link to it in the "Links" section. There is an excellent selection of forums - my favourite is obviously British/Irish Sterling Silver forum. Definately worth a look and, if I can't help you with your identification, these people certainly can!
THE INTRODUCTION
Hi! I'm Waylander01, a resident of Sydney, Australia. This page is all about my interest in English Antique Silver, and serves as an introduction for those who would like to know how to identify their family heirlooms. I've written a brief expose on what hallmarks are, and what they mean (under the "How To Identify Silver" heading). I also offer a service by which I offer, to the best of my ability, identify the "who, when, where" of people's unidentified silver (under the "Silver Inquiry" heading"). I've also posted on the site my own small collection (under the "My Collection" heading") and some essential links (under the "Links" heading").

I'm also a proud member of ASCAS (Association of Small Collectors of Antique Silver); vist the "Links" heading for a link to this great group of people, and information on how you too could become a member.
Questions? Comments? Praise or Damnation? Let me know by sending me an E-Mail.
